EXTRA-VAGANT

Extravagance is something that only a true Shopaholic can achieve. To fulfil the meaning of this word, Shopaholics must understand the importance of owning 'extras', their role and how to achieve the perfect balance upon implementing their use. Luckily, I'm the fairest Shopaholic of them all, Dolls, and just for you, I have the extra-vagant rundown!

I recently received an extra-vagant package in the mail that I didn't think would be physically possible to receive in my lifetime... A different pair of coloured eyes (except less gruesome than that sounds). The contact lenses can have eye prescriptions added, which I require to see, and after I apply them, instead of brown eyes, I have green. It's definitely my current favourite extravagant extra considering that when I wear them, the transformation is so extra-vagant that I almost feel unrecognisable looking into the mirror. It's perfect when you want to completely escape from your go-to, such as at a costume party or trying out a new look for a special occasion.

One of the most topical extra-vagant choices are tattoos. When you choose wisely, they're not only a beautiful extra but one of the most meaningful extra-vagances one can invest in. There are two major downsides to tattoos. The first is ageing. Unfortunately, tattoos stretch as our skin wrinkles. Therefore, a tattoo looks very different on a twenty year old than on a sixty year old. One solution to this problem is to consider the location of where we get tattoos. On an older woman, a large arm tattoo won't age as well as a dainty tattoo in a place that can easily be covered like on the hip. The second downside is bleeding. Tattoos with a lot of detail or a variety of colours is more likely to 'bleed' A.K.A distort. To correct this, one can use minimal colours and receive tattoo touch ups over the years to reinstate the outline and placement of the tattoo.

Similarly, piercings are another beautiful, yet permanent accessory. But when your choices are of grace and poise, I promise that your pretty factor will undoubtedly increase. Jewellery is well-regarded as being able to complete outfits. When you have multiple piercings, you have multiple opportunities to tie an outfit together and make it shine extra-vagance! For instance, if your outfit of choice is a long, spaghetti strap linen white dress, white gold stud earrings could be a beautiful addition. However, if you had your seconds pierced, you could add an emerald and gold earring set and the outfit would be taken to an extra-vagant level!
