Eye Candy: Get Your Mind out of the Gutter!

Updated: Mar 16, 2023

Nothing screams eye candy more than Channing Tatum dancing to 'Pony' in Magic Mike but I'm referring to something slightly less scandalous and equally as sexy. Disney Princesses are notoriously perfect. I, like many other women, believe that their features and figures can be damaging to children's perception of beauty. However, there is no denying that although there is an element of toxicity, it is every little girl's dream to grow up and embody princess energy. Who doesn't want to be rich, pretty and in love? By the end of this week's read, Doll, you will put the sugar in eye candy. That's a promise.

I have a confession, Shopaholics. Although Holli Would from 'Cool World' isn't technically a princess, she's too eye candy-esque to not include in this week's 'Le Maquillage' Blog Post edition. She's sexy, confident and unbearably seductive. Her makeup, however, is the prize money, Dolls. The iconic blue eyeshadow used to complement her goldilocks is a statement look, unlike any other princess. It's bold and it's daring but most importantly... it totally works. The profanity and crudeness depicted in 'Cool World' combined with heavy sexual connotations create appropriate grounds for Holli to dance on. She captivates men immediately, but perhaps it is her indifferent nature that makes her so enigmatic to both men & women.

Christian Dior's take on Holli Would comes in the shade 240 Denim. Holli Would would and you, Shopaholic, could! In this world, you can either be going Mad or you can be creating MADNESS. Personally, I think what makes Holli Would so entrancing is her ability to create madness and simultaneously, be a little mad. Nothing is sexier than a woman who burns fire and walks with havoc trailing behind her. Sweet Shopaholic, to burn fire there must be flames and flames must always burn rouge. Burn away, Doll, with a careful application of blush. Heavily powder your upper cheekbones & go heavy on the tip of your nose. Blushing may be sweet but blush is major. And we don't take anything major lightly, especially not when discussing the Shopaholic By-laws.

Holli is undeniably the most sultry cartoon vixen that cinema has seen and if anyone could allure a chic magnet like Brad Pitt, it would be her. Spoiler alert, Dolls: Despite Holli's most charming efforts, it seems BP only has eyes for Miss Jolie. It looks like blondes aren't for Pitt. Sorry, Jen.

I must confess to you, Dolls, I was left with a conundrum when deciding between two of the most iconic redheads in history: Anastasia or Ariel. Both of the women escape the confinements that their family placed on them, both women encourage empowerment and both are unforgettably enchanting. But when I remembered the scene of Anastasia having her 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' moment in Paris smoking a cigarette, it was her elegance that won me over.

Anastasia isn't your typical Disney Princess, Shopaholic. Disney tends to embellish their Princesses with vivid & vibrant colours which perfectly accompany their innocent & unsuspecting temperaments. Anastasia's maturity is emphasised using dull makeup combined with golden, malt and beige eyeshadow tones. The greyness in her eyes immediately spurs feelings of intrigue and fascination, as does the use of depth in the shades of her red hair and lips. They use rose, garnet, mahogany, wine & merlot flavours to portray her secretive nature. But it is her eyeshadow that is able to unleash all Anastasia has to offer... it is what encapsulates her true essence. The reservation we immediately see upon making eye contact with her violet eyes is amplified with the temptingness that 443 Cashmere (Eyeshadow 1) and 481 Poncho (Eyeshadow 2) are able to fabricate. Nude tones eliminate any girl-next-door auras and instead, invite I-wish-I-could-have-her mystique. Personally, I believe that redheads have it all in the department of lust... the intrigue they invite is gripping and captivating right from the get-go. However, if you're among the unlucky ones (like me) who weren't fortunate enough to be born into their class, hold tight because Dior never leaves a girl stranded. No matter your shade of hair, you can achieve the most enchanting & seductive look like Anastasia with your choice of 573 Nude Dress or 761 Mirage.

Sweet Shopaholics, dare I say that anyone is sweeter than you but Jasmine's le maquillage is certainly as sweet as her scent. Ironically, it is Princess Jasmine's stark un-sweetness that intrigues me the most... her strong political views and defiance against her father remind me of everything good in the world.

Romantic palettes accompany Jasmine's Middle-Eastern features and balance out the potency of her blue-black hair colour & thick eyebrows. However, in addition to a romantic colour scheme, her violet irises allow for shades like plum, lilac and periwinkle to sparkle. Perhaps it is my most treasured colour combination to exist... pink and black. There is something so timeless about pairing the playfulness & loveliness that is pink with the drama & somberness that is black. It appears that one of Disney's greatest successes was matching such a pairing to a Princess who embodies such dauntless, yet warm behaviour. As Jasmine's abundance of free-flowing blue-black hair surrounds her face and body like a halo, robust strokes of blush are painted onto her perfect cheekbones and upper eyelids creating a full circle coverage of pink. Shades of taffy, ballet slipper and strawberry dance upon her mocha skin tone as effortlessly as the wind. Yet, it seems the application of purple upon her lower eyelids is what brings Jasmine's etherealness to light- her elements of adventurousness and liberation. Jasmine's aura is truly unmatched. Her le maquillage is comprised of such a diverse range of colour combinations that one would assume too many flavour pairings would clash. I think that is what makes Jasmine so special- her ability to not only pull off such a look but to capture its very essence and rock her look in such an eloquent manner. The end result is a princess- one who dances on magic carpets in the sky at twilight and goes undercover in forbidden streets at dawn in flowing turquoise garments and daisy-tinted slippers. Her jam-stained lips accentuate her romantic element, tying together her darker features and completing her alluring profile. Jasmine's eye candy is accessible to all but most suited for women with free-spirits, women who dance with burgundy & merlot, enjoy the darkest of red wines and indulge in the boldest eyeliner wings imaginable.

Dolls, whether your parents blessed you with strawberry blonde, caramel or midnight-stained hair, lapis lazuli, hazel or emerald eyes, rose-tinted, rouge-tinted or cocoa-tinted lips, you can apply the iconic & drop-dead gorgeous le maquillage looks of these Vixens & Princesses. Print out, sticky note and highlight it at your command as this Blog Post becomes your Holy Bible. Dolls, I will be blessed with your presence at the beginning of next week but for now, as always,

Kisses, To my Princess Shopaholics x
