MY IN-VOGUE BEAUTY DEVOTIONS

Dolls, you know how devoted I am to beauty... I have an entire blog dedicated to the subject, duh! What the beauty world considers to be 'in vogue' is everchanging. I think we should learn from that, hence, I stand by the belief that our everyday beauty routines should model the everchanging principle. The beauty industry is constantly providing us with new things to learn and teach ourselves: Techniques, products, brands and more! I've found that when I implement these many opportunities for constant experimentation, my makeup abilities considerably improve and doing my makeup becomes such an exciting task. The result of my recent experimentation, Dolls, is a blog post filled with my most perfect in-vogue beauty devotions!

Two months ago, I started getting gel nails with tips as opposed to acrylic extensions. The salon I go to now is filled with the loveliest of loveliest people bestowing the perfect combination of professionalism, creativity and skill. Sometimes my acrylic extensions would begin falling off after 1-3 days and it was common that I was paying for an entire new set of nails every week. To my Shopaholic delight, I'm only attending the salon for a new set every 3 weeks and often, only for 1-2 fingernails that have come off, not 7-8! The longevity of switching to gel nails has dissipated my frustrations financially and practically which has completely renewed my love for having long, elegant, beautiful nails.

Speaking of my nail salon, one of my nail artists has the cutest, and I mean the CUTEST hairstyles. They're so cute that it seems almost impossible to not find the inspiration to create hairstyles like hers. The thing I like most about her style is her use of kawaii hair clips. When I went out and bought these clips, I was pleasantly surprised I could find them for less than a few dollars in my local shopping centre. I've attached the types I bought in the links below for you, Dolls! They came in black, clear and brown and so far, the clear is my favourite because I think it embodies the kawaii style the most. When I've gone through previous phases of involving hairstyles in my beauty routine, I've focused on ones that take a significant amount of time like braiding and the use of hair ironing tools. But using cute clips consumes such little time that I have the additional time and patience to use more variety and extract more joy from the process!

I think every makeup lover has that one makeup product that they use the most and are undoubtedly more attached to. For me, that product has always been mascara. Over the years I've loved the way it looks and feels after I apply it. I thought this was because I had a knack for doing it the way that I liked, not realising that a huge contributing factor to mascara being my favourite product was that I'd been blessed with access to luxury quality brands and have always been gifted new sticks in time to not run on low supply. It wasn't until recently that I had this epiphany because, for the first time two months ago, due to near-empty bottles, I was forced to start skimping on both my Better Than Sex and Dior mascara. Going the last few weeks spending 15 minutes trying to evenly coat my lashes with a mostly dry wand, when I was once perfecting this step in 3 minutes opened my eyes to my utter in-vogue devotion to mascara! After placing my order to Dior and waiting five painful mascara-less days, I knew that when it finally arrived today and I got to apply that first beautiful, even, thick, black coat, I wouldn't ever take for granted how important mascara is in my beauty routine again.

I fell in love with dying my hair when I started getting highlights. Highlights became my go-to and every time I left the salon, I felt really pretty - I'd found the hair dye routine that made me feel like the most beautiful version of myself. I decided to ask for a change for my birthday, so when the colour completely changed after only a week into something completely different to what I'd asked for, my confidence plummeted and I felt like all of my fears about deferring from what felt safe cement. But I decided, that instead of giving up and deferring back to my roots (pun intended), I'd put it down to a bad hairdresser and try again. I figured that millions of people love their highlight-less hair-dying routines just as much as I love my one with highlights. Dolls, this second hairdresser perfected the vision I originally tried to become devoted to, following the in-vogueness of a brunette and ash combination sent from Jessica Alba and Angelina Jolie heaven. That flutter of prettiness that looking at my highlights once spurred renewed but now it's in a different form, stemming from a source of boldness, which only adds to what prettiness should and can be all about.

Oh, how I love being in-vogue, Shopaholics...

You and others are in awe of your ability to be punctual with perfection.

Never underestimate the power, Dolls, of asking yourself: Do you want to just feel fond of your punctuality, or do you want to excel a standard, devoting yourself to being the most exceptional, timeless and effortless Shopaholic there can be?

The choice is yours.

And with this blog post, you have the steps to make that answer come true.

Kisses,

COS x
