MY MAKEUP ADDICTIONS

Updated: Mar 16, 2023

Dolls, it's no secret that I'm a makeup addict but my recent makeup addictions are extra special le maquillage products and techniques. Makeup was something I always adored but I never had a desire to extend my knowledge as other girls did. I never learnt the ins and outs of foundation or contour, nor did I have extensive collections of palettes or brushes. My infatuation has endured as makeup artists have offered me their most prized tips, as TV commercials modelled fancy le maquillage tools or as I observed close family and friends who modelled their knowledge with pretty makeup looks. So, Dolls, these are my biggest secrets and my sweetest addictions.

Acrylic nails bring me a ridiculous amount of pleasure. If you're a loyal subscriber then you know how I maintain my claws weekly to fortnightly, experimenting with colours, embellishments and designs. However, up until recently, I thought that the almond shape was my signature shape. It has been for over two years! Shopaholics, when it comes to le maquillage, no decision is finite. There is always room to add, switch and create which is what entices me the most. When I stumbled upon these beautiful nail photos on Pinterest, I was inspired to try the ballerina shape on my fingernails and I was met with unexpected joy. I absolutely loved how they looked on my hands. Who knows... Maybe I am a ballerina, after all, Shopaholics!

I was fortunate enough to not only land my dream job this year but my boss is majorly sweet, caring & a Shopaholic herself... a makeup artist!!! Every so often she blesses me with a beauty secret and I always snatch them up. One day I commented on how beautiful her cheekbones always look. They're high and defined, framing her stunning face perfectly. She explained to me that instead of applying my bronzer on the total surface area of my cheek (which I was previously doing), I should instead contour the bronzer from the hairline and bring it across to the nose only on the upper section of my cheek. All I can say is that it's the only way I've applied my bronzer since learning of this tip and I am never going back. It's truly an obsession, Dolls!

Dark eye le maquillage has typically been my forte but last month, the nude shades on my eyeshadow palette allured me. I dusted my lids in chocolate tones and the result was that my lids blended with my natural skin tone. It has become my go-to work makeup technique because it allows my mascara to pop and the finishing look, though subtle, is classy and professional. It's a sign, Dolls... Follow your le maquillage gut and you will be rewarded!

My final makeup addiction is the le maquillage product that I consider to be a magic trick & my holy grail: dry shampoo. You spray the magic onto hair that's starting to become oily and poof! The grease is gone. As a brunette, I make sure to buy dry shampoo that clearly states that it's for dark hair and that there is no white residue. I buy the brand Batiste in shade brunette. I like to shower after work but sometimes I'm too tired or I end up watching movies with my family so time escapes me. It's in dire times the following day when dry shampoo really does feel like an addiction.

Shopaholics, I truly hope that you, too, can become addicted to my makeup addictions. I cannot wait to hear all about your makeup addictions. It can be our little secret! Until next week, Dolls!

Kisses & Hugs,

COS xoxo
