THE CHERRY ON TOP

Recently, I've been trying to be more creative with my la beaute routine, however, most of the recommendations to do this involve drastic changes such as hair dying. I had to be my own investigator and guinea pig to bring to you the makeover advice for those who want little cherry's on top to make big changes!

In the plaza where I work, there is a hair straightening lounge and a hair curling lounge. I think it's an incentive either by the hair ironing companies or the plaza but whoever it is that thought of it and made it happen is the ultimate Shopaholic aly! It's become many of my colleagues' favourite thing to do before work or on break, including me, except I went with my best friend on both of our days off. No matter if I feel hot and sweaty at work, if my makeup was rushed or I'm wearing my work clothes, to have the cherry being my hair sitting prettily on top is a quick fix I can get behind any time, any day, at this beautiful, pink, safe space.

If hair curling and hair straightening isn't your thing, (although it may surprise you!) it wasn't always my thing - the time it takes, the manoeuvring and the heat damage. And if that old version of me is the now version of you, you can still make your hair beyond beautiful thanks to me, your hairy fairy godmother! I became obsessed with hair rings when the hair and makeup team implemented them into my favourite fashion-icon actress' look. They work best with braided hair as they can latch on more permanently on a coarse surface but don't let that limit you, Dolls. You can wear box braids, fishtail braids, two braids, one braid or a braided headband to name a few of the millions of possibilities that exist to lay the foundation for the accessory that will become the accessory you could've only dreamed of. Long gone are the days before I knew about this elegant, easy-to-use, subtle accessory and now are the days I live in Shopaholic heaven.

I love discovering new ways of doing makeup that are simple and effective. I'm not good at mastering elaborate routines that take time, precision and a multitude of products. So, I loved it when someone else's eyeshadow shade inspired me to use my liquid highlighter as my eyeshadow! Its shimmer contrasting my dark hazel eyes accentuated that feature of mine... A bold, bright, elegant look was created and (if you can't tell!) I've become obsessed with it.

You may have noticed, Dolls, that recently I've felt drawn to statement looks, the type that inspires confidence. One of my friends who inspires me to seek initiative, femininity and strength, got a pedicure with a hot sparkly pink which I thought aligned perfectly with everything she represents. When I copied her, I immediately felt more beautiful, in the self-assured and classy way that Barbie or Michelle Obama invites women to be.

I love stockings - thin, black and semi-sheer. There's not too much science to my obsession. I think they're sexy, elegant and practical. A confession, Dolls? I'd be lying to you if I didn't say my infatuation began when I saw them worn by Michelle Pfeiffer and Margot Robbie!

So, Shopaholics, I didn't skimp on any details this week because my obsession with beauty has been at an all-time high. I take it very seriously - reporting to you - the latest, the best, the most honest. Until next time, Dolls.

Kisses,

COS x
